The positioning highlights the strategic role of subnational governments in the struggle against desertification, degradation of soil and drought, proposing integrated actions on territorial planning, water and food security, ecosystem restoration, multi-level governance, financing, capacity strengthening and social justice. Furthermore, we highlight the experiences of local and regional cities and governments that contribute to the construction of more resilient, inclusive and sustainable territories.
