In 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic caused the entire world, including ICLEI South America, to unite even more to support local governments in collaboratively building and recovering solutions and alternatives to face the new challenges.

We opened the doors to a new online world, which enabled greater integration between our network of associates, civil society, private sector companies, and regional and international organizations. This reaffirmed the urgent need to implement actions to curb the advance of the climate emergency and recover biodiversity loss, thus contributing to building a fairer and more resilient future.

The ICLEI South America Annual Report highlights our work in 2020. Here, we tell the story of learning and transformation of the year, anchored in our commitment to the entire international community and our purpose of motivating local governments to build new, greener, more sustainable and fairer models of society.
