Climate change is one of the main and most complex challenges of the 21st century, as it exacerbates increasingly frequent extreme events that leave their mark by causing casualties and losses or damage to property year after year. Furthermore, it demands coordinated actions on a local and global scale with substantial and geographically heterogeneous effects in the environmental, social, and economic spheres.
Faced with these challenges and with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of Salvador, the Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Plan (PMAMC) was developed, which recognizes the need for inclusive, green-blue, low-carbon and resilient development in the face of the effects of climate change in the city.
