Year: 2020

Produced by: Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, GIZ, ICLEI, IUCN, with technical support from the Natura Foundation.

The Connectivity and Participatory Management for the Conservation of the Dry Tropical Forest in the Montes de María initiative, located in the municipality of San Juan de Nepomuceno, within the area of influence of the Los Colorados Fauna and Flora Sanctuary, is a complementary strategy configured as a conservation mosaic. This mosaic comprises an ecological corridor that includes municipal reserves, spring areas, and private farms, forming an ecological corridor for forest conservation between the Sanctuary and its area of influence. It shelters one of the most threatened ecosystems in Colombia.
