Project description:
The project Catalonia for the Amazon: Climate Justice and Equality This is an international cooperation initiative that brings together Catalonia, the state of Amapá (Brazil), and the department of Guaviare (Colombia) to strengthen climate governance in Amazonian territories. The project promotes the exchange of experiences, technical cooperation, and the strengthening of the institutional capacities of subnational governments, contributing to the development of strategies focused on climate justice, gender equality, and sustainable development.
Throughout its implementation, territorial and institutional diagnoses, capacity-building workshops, working groups, technical exchanges, methodological tools, and spaces for dialogue between governments, experts, and partners will be developed. These activities will support the construction of more inclusive public policies and the strengthening of international cooperation among the participating territories.
In addition to technical actions, the project also invests in communication and advocacy to increase the visibility of Amazonian experiences in national and international spaces. Its products include a communication and advocacy strategy, a toolkit for climate governance, and the Amazon Voices material, which will gather stories and experiences from the people involved in the initiative.
