The Roadmap for Creating Municipal Conservation Units offers information capable of technically guiding the process of creating conservation units at the municipal level. This new roadmap was developed in more accessible language, aiming to be a practical tool so that environmental managers and other stakeholders have clarity on how to create a municipal conservation unit.

The Roadmap, in addition to meeting the guidelines used in the processes for creating conservation units, provides an important instrument for the bodies of the National Environmental System (SISNAMA), present in the municipalities, to effectively contribute to the expansion of the National System of Nature Conservation Units, helping Brazil to meet the goals and agreements arising from the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
