A Case Of Policy And Planning Integration For Biodiversity Conservation In Brazil

The objective of this case study is to demonstrate the development of the Connectivity Area concept, resulting from the analysis of land use in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas, in the State of São Paulo. The publication highlights the potential of providing Ecosystem Services and integrated action for biodiversity conservation. The case also describes processes and efforts to increase the impact of the initiative, offering lessons learned and opportunities for replication in other metropolitan regions. Innovative aspects are also highlighted, clarifying the engagement processes and the range of multiple stakeholders that led to the development of the Local Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan.
