Consolidated by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, the Northeast Consortium, and the Bahia State Secretariat for the Environment, the Open Letter resulting from the 5th Northeast Regional Meeting, which brought together local governments, civil society, and strategic partners in Salvador, reaffirms the leading role of subnational entities in the climate agenda and calls on governments, international organizations, and global partners to strengthen cooperation around ecological restoration, water security, and sustainable development in the Brazilian Semi-Arid region.
