This Greenhouse Gas Emissions Analysis contributes to supporting development.
from the Middle Itajaí Valley and European Valley region, by detailing the emissions profile and indicating possible trajectories for a more sustainable and resilient future in the face of climate change, supporting the development of mitigation proposals in the region's Climate Action Plan.
This report presents the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Analysis (GGEA) of the region comprised of 17 municipalities located in the state of Santa Catarina, in the Middle Itajaí Valley and the European Valley, members of the Intermunicipal Consortium of the Middle Itajaí Valley (CIMVI) and the Association of Municipalities of the European Valley (Amve), for the period from 2018 to 2023. In addition to quantifying and monitoring emissions, the GGEA constitutes a technical instrument to support local climate planning, subsidizing the formulation of policies and actions aimed at mitigating and adapting to climate change. The analysis establishes a baseline for identifying emission sources, defining reduction targets, and monitoring the transition trajectory towards a low-carbon development model.
