This Executive Summary presents the main results of the 1st Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory of the municipality of Canoas, with 2018 as the reference year. The objective of the inventory is to reveal the city's GHG emissions profile, identifying its main sources and thus enabling the development of ambitious strategies to reduce these emissions, as well as mitigating the impacts of climate change. With the launch of the inventory, Canoas reinforces its commitment to climate action, contributing to the fulfillment of the goals of the Paris Agreement¹ and to the construction of a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.
