Brochure INTERACT-Bio 2019

Year: 2019

Produced by: Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and ICLEI South America

INTERACT-Bio is a four-year project (2017-2020) that promotes a new way of doing regional territorial planning, transversally incorporating aspects of biodiversity. It has enabled Metropolitan Regions at different stages of urban expansion – Campinas, Belo Horizonte, and Londrina – to follow the path of sustainable and nature-based development, aiming to improve the quality of urban life. After two years of the project, it was possible to closely monitor the strategies of each region to, through participatory planning, knowledge management, and capacity building, increase the supply of ecosystem services, translating both the Metropolis Statute and the National Strategy and Action Plan for Biodiversity (EPANB) at the local level.
