Launched by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in partnership with ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability, the PlanNAU – National Urban Afforestation Plan – is the first federal instrument dedicated to the afforestation of Brazilian cities. The initiative represents a milestone in the country's urban environmental policy, guiding municipalities in expanding and improving urban green spaces as a strategy for climate adaptation and improving the quality of life in cities.
