The network's governance is composed of Regional Executive Committees, the Global Executive Committee and the ICLEI Council, renewed every three years through the election process.
The Regional Executive Committee (RexCom) is the body for direct regional representation, composed of ICLEI members from each region chosen by their peers. In 2020, elections will be held for the 2021-2024 term.
In the governance model, the ICLEI Council is composed of all members of the Regional Executive Committees (RexComs); and the Global Executive Committee (GexCom) is composed of one member from each RexCom, as suggested by each Committee, as well as additional seats linked to the representation of strategic agendas for ICLEI worldwide.
