Following the announcements of the new ICLEI President, Park Won-soon (Mayor of Seoul), and the new ICLEI Global Executive Committee, on the closing day of the ICLEI World Congress 2015, the network presented the new Strategic Plan for 2015-2021, approved by Advice of the organization.

The document extends the network's commitment and revises the guidelines for the operation of regional offices and thematic agendas, further outlining the role that ICLEI wishes to play in the world through the promotion of sustainable urban development.
