The Bonn Climate Conference, in Germany, is an annual event promoted by the United Nations that plays a fundamental role as a preparatory stage for the Conference of the Parties (COP). This year, the conference will be held from the 16th to the 27th of June and will bring together the Subsidiary Organs for Implementation (SBI) and the Scientific-Technological Advisory Board (SBSTA), dedicated to discussing and negotiating mechanisms to implement previous COP decisions. During the conference, central themes such as climate financing, energy transition and adaptation to climate change will be discussed.

At the same time, from the 16th to the 18th of June, the Daring Cities 2025 Bonn Dialogues, a global forum promoted by ICLEI – Gobiernos Locales por la Sustentabilidad. Aimed at urban leaders who directly face the challenges of the climate emergency, the event forms part of the official program of the 62nd Session of UN Subsidiary Organs (SB62).

With the theme “Stronger national climate plans through multilevel actions”, Daring Cities 2025 will bring together representatives from local, regional and national governments, as well as members of academia, the private sector and civil society. The objective is to promote concrete strategies for collaborative climate action, contributing to more robust preparation towards COP 30.

One of the main focuses will be support for the implementation of CHAMP – an initiative that strengthens collaboration between different levels of government in the elaboration and execution of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs 3.0).

This event is a unique opportunity to contribute with practical solutions and strengthen alliances in confronting the global climate crisis. Participation is open to all interested parties.
