A Bonn Climate Conference, The Conference of the Parties (COP), held in Germany, is an annual event promoted by the United Nations, playing a key role as a preparatory step for the Conference of the Parties (COP). This year, the Conference takes place between June 16 and 27 and will bring together the Subsidiary Bodies for Implementation (SBI) and Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), which are dedicated to discussing and negotiating mechanisms to implement the decisions of previous COPs. Throughout the conference, central themes such as climate finance, energy transition, and adaptation to climate change will be debated.
In parallel, between June 16th and 18th, the following will take place: Daring Cities 2025 Bonn Dialogues, a global forum promoted by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. Aimed at urban leaders who directly face the challenges of the climate emergency, the event is part of the official program of the 62nd Session of the UN Subsidiary Bodies (SB62).
With the theme “"Stronger national climate plans through multi-level action"”, Daring Cities 2025 will bring together representatives from local, regional, and national governments, as well as members of academia, the private sector, and civil society. The goal is to foster concrete strategies for collaborative climate action, contributing to more robust preparation for COP 30.
One of the main focuses will be supporting the implementation of CHAMP – an initiative that strengthens collaboration between different levels of government in the development and implementation of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs 3.0).
This event is a unique opportunity to contribute practical solutions and strengthen alliances in addressing the global climate crisis. Participation is open to all interested parties.
