The city of Novo Hamburgo, The company, located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, joined ICLEI in 2022 as another measure to accelerate its sustainable and low-carbon development.

With 247,000 inhabitants, Novo Hamburgo has diversified its production chain through actions converging towards a low-carbon economy. Committed to strengthening the SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) Strategy Network, the city has governmental ESG initiatives in rural areas and to adapt the new generations of students in the municipal school system, young talents, and entrepreneurs to Industry 4.0 and technological innovation with low pollution impact.

Until 2022, COMUSA, the water and sewage services authority of Novo Hamburgo, was the only public body in the state to sign the UN Global Compact.
