A city of Goiânia, The capital of Goiás has been taking advantage of opportunities to achieve sustainable urban development since joining the ICLEI network. 

Goiás has committed to the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, participated in several capacity-building events for climate planning, and in relevant events such as the Forum of Secretaries of the Environment of Brazilian Capitals (CB27) and the Climate Week of Latin America and the Caribbean.
