The city of Sorocaba, Located in the interior of São Paulo, since joining the ICLEI network, the municipality has participated in both phases of the Urban-LEDS project and, through it, has produced important documents such as the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory, the municipal policy on climate change, and the municipal urban transport and mobility plan. These publications are fundamental for the sustainable and resilient development of the municipality.

Sorocaba has committed to the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy, participated in the International Conference on Protected Areas in São Paulo, and in the Latin America and Caribbean Climate Week in Salvador.

In 2020, the city drafted its second Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory, developed in partnership with ICLEI.

Already in 2021, the city rHe affirms his joy in sharing the collaborative work within the scope of TAP and in having had representatives in 3 (three) mentoring sessions to improve the pitch of the project “A center for all people”.

Sorocaba's anniversary is celebrated on August 16th.
