ICLEI launches call for sponsors for Brazilian meetings

Throughout 2022, ICLEI South America will be hosting a series of meetings for its members. For the promotion, organisation, and execution of these events, a call for sponsors was opened on Tuesday, 1st February. This is for those interested in strengthening their work linked to sustainable urban development alongside strategic partners.

The sponsorship covers the following events: the 1st National Meeting of ICLEI Brazil, to be held in the city of Recife between 17 and 18 March; the 1st Meeting of ICLEI in Minas Gerais, to be held in the municipality of Nova Lima between 02 and 03 June; and the 1st Meeting of ICLEI in the Northeast, to be held in the municipality of João Pessoa, in June 2022.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 28 February.

Campo Grande will host the 1st ICLEI Brazil Centre-West Meeting from 22 to 24 October, bringing together local governments and partners to prepare the region for COP30.

Teresina will host the 4th ICLEI Brazil Northeast Meeting to discuss a just energy transition and the resilience of the Caatinga region in the lead-up to COP30.

The event will bring together local governments, academia, the private sector, and civil society to strengthen climate governance in the Northeast and prepare the region's contributions to the global conference in Belém.
