Local Voluntary Report (RVL) Sarzedo 2025

O Local Voluntary Report (RVL) Sarzedo 2025 It was developed by ICLEI South America, in partnership with the Municipality of Sarzedo and the mining company Itaminas, with the objective of supporting the localization of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the municipality. 

The initiative structured a participatory process for territorial planning, social mobilization, and the construction of multi-level governance, articulating the public sector, the private sector, and civil society in the development of long-term strategies for the sustainable development of the territory. The project also resulted in the consolidation of the “Sarzedo 2035” strategy, aligning municipal public policies with the SDGs and strengthening local capacities for planning, monitoring, and implementing sustainable projects.

Implementation period:

 July 2025 to February 2026.

Territory(ies) where it was implemented:

Sarzedo is a municipality that is part of the Belo Horizonte Metropolitan Region in Minas Gerais.

Products developed:

  • Local Voluntary Report (RVL) Sarzedo 2025;
  • Territorial strategy “Sarzedo 2035”;
  • Project pipeline aligned with the SDGs;
  • Report on the Survey of Sustainable Actions;
  • Participatory processes of listening and social awareness;
  • Alignment between the Multi-Year Plan (PPA) and the 2030 Agenda;
  • Monitoring system based on 35 indicators from the Sustainable Development Index of Cities (IDSC).

 

Key results:

  • Mobilization of approximately 700 participants in construction circles, community dialogues, and processes of qualified listening;
  • Structuring 332 projects aimed at implementing the SDGs in the municipality;
  • Strengthening multi-level governance between public authorities, the private sector, and civil society;
  • Consolidation of the Sarzedo 2035 strategic plan;
  • Integrating the SDGs into municipal planning and the Multi-Year Plan;
  • Strengthening local institutional capacity for monitoring and implementing the 2030 Agenda in the context of a mining municipality.
