The city of Quito It is one of ICLEI's oldest members, having participated in numerous projects and events related to sustainable urban development.

Quito participated in and cooperated with the CLEVER Cities, CITYFOOD, and Local Protected Areas projects, as well as with the Transformative Actions Program (TAP).
