2020 é considerado “Super Ano” para Natureza, Biodiversidade e Clima. Os recados da ciência estão dados. A caminho da 15ª COP sobre Biodiversidade (CDB), quando o marco global sobre biodiversidade será repactuado, e da 26ª COP sobre mudança do clima (UNFCCC), quando se buscará finalizar a decisão sobre um novo mecanismo de mercado e avaliar e responder às revisões dos compromissos nacionais (NDCs), esses temas devem convergir e ser discutidos nas mesas do Fórum Econômico Mundial e da Cúpula das Nações Unidas, entre uma série de outros espaços globais previstos ao longo do ano.

O ICLEI trabalhou com parceiros regional e globalmente em mapas do caminho para este ano e esperamos contar com sua ação e ambição para mostrar ao mundo a força dos governos locais pela sustentabilidade em 2020.

Teresina will host the 4th ICLEI Brazil Northeast Meeting to discuss a just energy transition and the resilience of the Caatinga region in the lead-up to COP30.

The event will bring together local governments, academia, the private sector, and civil society to strengthen climate governance in the Northeast and prepare the region's contributions to the global conference in Belém.
