ICLEI Innovation is a program that stimulates innovation for the sustainable development of territories by fostering startups that bring sustainable solutions to local governments. Based on a specific local challenge, each round of the program provides mentorship to startups, encouraging the application of innovative and sustainable solutions in the territories.

The initiative connects innovation and technology based on concrete challenges faced by contemporary cities. The project functions as a platform for collaboration between local governments, startups, researchers, and the private sector, stimulating solutions focused on climate resilience, green infrastructure, sustainable food systems, and urban transformation.

Implementation territories:

Brazilian cities and urban territories, with actions focused especially on urban innovation networks and climate sustainability. So far, the 1st and 2nd rounds have been implemented in Rio de Janeiro, and the 3rd round in Porto Alegre.
