Brief project description: Supporting the implementation of the Urban-LEDS II project, developed by UN-Habitat and ICLEI and funded by the European Commission, through technical assistance to Colombian cities in the formulation and implementation of low-emission urban development strategies. This experience included the development of climate planning instruments, technical studies, workshops, communication activities, and the strengthening of local climate compliance in line with the Paris Agreement, thus contributing to the transition towards sustainable urban development models with a focus on low carbon, institutional strengthening, and knowledge transfer.

• The LEDS Lab model was consolidated as an effective climate finance mechanism, strengthening institutional capacities for structuring bankable mitigation and adaptation projects.
• The technical and financial viability of climate action projects was demonstrated through their implementation in key sectors such as energy efficiency and renewable energy.
• The link between low-emission urban planning and national climate commitments was strengthened, contributing to the alignment between urban policies and NDCs.
• Urban innovation was promoted through the use of Urban Labs as spaces for experimentation, facilitating the adoption of technological solutions in real-world environments.
• The capacities of local governments for the design, implementation and communication of climate projects were increased, supporting the energy transition and sustainable urban development.
