The UrbanShift project aims to transform cities for people and the planet through sustainable, integrated, and zero-carbon urban development. In South America, ICLEI supported the project's implementation in Brazil and Argentina, promoting integrated urban planning processes and facilitating dialogue among key stakeholders to accelerate urban climate action.
Components:
- Capacity building for integrated urban planning, aimed at providing public officials and urban professionals with knowledge and tools to promote equitable, resilient and nature-positive urban transformations.
- Multi-level governance through National-Local Dialogues, as a central mechanism to strengthen coordination between different levels and areas of government, promote the coherence of public policies and accelerate the implementation of local development priorities aligned with the Sustainable Development agenda.
